WAGES OF FARM WORKERSI MINISTER TO FIN RATES. (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 23. Farm labourers’ wages for the present dairying season will be fixed by the Minister for Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong), at Stratford tomorrow, in consultation with Mr W. J. Poison, M.P., Mr H. E. Blyde, vicepresident of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and Mr J. Furniss, of Ruawaro. A more substantial increase in the rate than that made last year is expected. It is understood that the new rate for an adult farm hand will be about 50s a week.
