When the Blue Star motor freighter Sydney Star, of 11,095 tons, and the Australian Inter-State freighter Macumba, of 2526 tons, came into collision in Sydney Harbour late last night, the Sydney Star was so badly damaged amidships that the engine-room filled with water, and the vessel had to be beached. The Macumba. was holed above the water-line, and was able to reach the wharf.

The Sydney Star is lying in several feet of water, about 200 yards offshore at Rose Bay, with a gaping hole in her side.
