REPORT OF AN AGREEMENT. SATISFACTORY CONFERENCE. \ STATEMENT NOT CONFIRMED. (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 23. The British United Press correspondent at Berlin says it is semiofficially announced that Mr Chamberlain and Herr Hitler will meet at 10 p.m. Well-informed circles report that an agreement has been reached at Godesberg, and that the conference between Herr von Ribbentrop, Sir Neville Henderson, and Sir Horace Wilson ended in a most satisfcatory manner. This is not confirmed. It is reported from Koenigswinter that Mr Chamberlain, Sir Neville Henderson, and Sir Horace Wilson left their hotel at 11.15 to meet Herr Hitler. A PROTRACTED INTERVIEW. LASTS TILL AFTER MIDNIGHT. (Received This Day, 12.40 p.m.) BERLIN, September 24. At 14 minutes past midnight the Propaganda Ministry announced that a communique could not be expected tonight. It was reported from Koenighwinter at 25 minutes past midnight that Mr Chamberlain had not returned from his interview with Herr Hitler. END OF THE CONVERSATION. (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 23. It is reported from Godesborg that Mr Chamberlain loft Herr Hitler at 1.25 a.m. CALLS TO LONDON. TELEPHONE LINES CONGESTED. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, September 23. A Godesberg report stated that tho telephone lines to Mr Chamberlain’s hotel were jammed with calls when Mr Chamberlain conversed at length with London. The announcement of his letter to Herr Hitler was received with something like dismay, and it is suggested there had been a real hitch.
