THE WEATHER.
COLDER ASPECTS TO-DAY. A change of weather was experienced in Ashburton last night and this morning, the sky was dull ana a clnlly wind blew from the south-west. Thje maximum temperature yesterday was 55.6 degrees and the minimum last night 38.3 degrees. There was a frost of 5.5 degrees this morning, and at 9 a.m. the barometer .stood at 30.01 inches. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation: Pressure has risen in the south, otherwise there has been little change in the New Zealand area. The depression over the Tasman ¥ S'ea lias filled ui>. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Lighjt variable winds. Weather fair to fine. Pleasant day but cold night temperatures, with frosts and some j morning fogs. Seas slight.
