OBITUARY.
MR W. R. CLASSON. Mr W. R. Glasson, who died recently at Ashburton, was well known in the Mayfield and Mount Somers districts. He was born in Timaru in 1884 and spent the early part of his married life in Oxford, going to Mount Somers about 12 years ago. After spending a short time in the Mayfield district, he returned to Mount Somers, where he was associated with most organisations. Mr Glasson was a member of the school committee for several years and served for a term as chairman. He was also chairman of the Mayfield School Committee while resident there and was a member of both the Mayfield Collie Dog Club and the Mayfield Agricultural and Pastoral Association .
Mr Glasson is survived by his wife four daughters, and two sons. The funeral' at Mount Somers was conducted by the Rev. Trevor Williams and there was a large cortege. The flag was flown at half-mast at the Mount Somers School as a mark ot respect.
