SPRINGBURN SCHOOL.

MEETINC OF THE COMMITTEE. The Springburn School Committee met recently. The chairman (Mr L. G. MeFarlane) referred to the death of Mr H. Smith, who was a. member of the committee for several years. A motion of sympathy was carried. Mention was made of the impending departure of the chairman, who has held the position for the last nine years. It was decided to apply to the Public Works Department, Christchurch, lor the tar-sealing of portion of the grounds. Tlie secretary was instructed to interview two persons and obtain their permission for their names to he sent to the Canterbury Education Board to fill vacancies on the committee caused by the death of Mr b. Smith and the resignation of Air AlcEarlane.
