ST. JAMES THEATRE. "MAKE A WISH.” t Bobby Breen’s new musical starring vehicle “Make a Wish’’ brings not only the engaging hoy lyric tenor in a characteristically Bobby Breen starring role, but also the polished Basil Rathbone and Marion Claire, singing star, as tho adult romantic principals of tho story. This film will be shown this evening and to-morrow evening at the St. James Theatre. Many tuneful songs were written for the picture by Oscar Straus, famous Viennese composer who journeyed to Hollywood especially for the purpose, and who collaborated with the lyric writers, _ Paul Webster and Louis Alter, in the creation of such hit numbers as the theme song, “Make a Wish," “Music in Afy Heart," “Birchlake Forever," and “Campfire Dreams" which have already achieved wide popularity over the radio. In the latter songs Bobby is assisted by the 68 members of St. Luke’s choristers, the outstanding boys’ singing organisation of the Pacific Coast. These were among tho 160 youngsters who spent several weeks “on location" for “Make a Wish.” The film was directed by Kurt Neumann, who lias’ been in charge of the filming of all Bobby Breen pictures. Principal Productions has mounted the entire screen play on a lavish scale under the active supervision of Edward Gross. In addition to the sequences in the boys’ camp and in a theatre many scenes were filmed in richly appointed homes. This is an RKO Radio release.
