BANQUET HELD.
BAPTIST YOUNG PEOPLE’S
SOCIETY.
There was a large attendance at the banquet of the Baptist Young People’s Society last evening, Avhen the Rev. L. P. Bryan presided.. Miss Cook, a missionary on furlough from China told of her experience as a guest at a great banquet in China, arranged by a notable Christian Chinese General. Miss Cook based her remarks on a passage from the Song of Solomon, “He brought me unto the banqueting house and His banner 0A r er me was love.”
'Greetings were received from representatives of the SaU'ation Army, Church of 'Christ, and the Hinds Presbyterian Church.
Mr R. H. Loy spoke the 40 years’ valuable service of the Young Peoples’ Society in the church. Later in the evening a deA-otional meeting was held, presided OA r er by Mr E. J. Tucker. The address was given by the Rev. D. D. MacLachlan, of Timvald, who took as his text “The Lord added to the church daily such as should be saA'cd,” Acts: 2, 47.
