A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr J. Cook was carried in silence at the meeting of the Ashburton East School Committee last evening.

Mr A. H. Todd (Great Chief of the Ashburton. Savage Club) returned to Ashburton this morning after a fortnight’s tour in the North Island. Mr Todd visited many -Savage Clubs, attending koreros at Wanganui, New Plymouth, Taumarunui, Cambridge, and Hastings.
