HERR HITLER INDIGNANT,

RUTHLESS PURGE FEARED.

(Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, June 26

The “Daily Herald” says that Herr Hitler is indignant at Austria’s recalcitrance, and gave audience to Dr. Inquart- and Herr Neubaclier (Mayor of Vienna) at Berchtesgaden. They told him that the Austrian situation- demands liis personal attention. It is feared that if this is given a ruthless purge will be launched in an attempt to. extinguish opposition to the new Nazi regime. Herr Leopold, Austria’s ex-Nazi leader, who was removed from Austriaand attached to Herr Hess’s staff, heads the group of revolters against Herr Buerckel (the new leader), whom lie regards as his supersessor. There is wide internal dissension and general hatred of Germans.
