The cricket match between Australia and Middlesex was drawn. It ended on a sporting note, Bradman declaring to allow Edrich to score the 10 runs necessary to complete his 1000 runs in May. Edrich made 20 in 12 minutes. Play was not resumed until 2.50, owing to rain. The wicket was tricky. Badcock was out in Nevell’s first over. Bradman began uncertainly, but Fingleton was quite confident, and batted very well. Later Bradman became accustomed to the wicket. McCabe, in excellent form, batted brilliantly. The scores are:
