MEETS QUEEN MARY.
AIDA O.F ABYSSINIA. INCIDENT AT PLYMOUTH. LONDON, May . 20. Haile Selassie’s 11-year-old granddaughter, Princess Aida Desta, was presented to Queen Mary to-day at Plymouth. The girl, who is at school at Penzance, had been chosen by her schoolmates to present Qu’een Mary with a purse toward a Princess Elizabeth cot in the Devon and Cornwall Hospital. On the pavement: at Plymouth a widow, Pauline Field, struggled to get a photograph of Queen Mary, with a 24-year-old camera. The Queen beckoned her over..
“May I open the* ear door?” asked Mrs Field. “Certainly,” said Queen Mary, who posed smilingly. “I almost dropped the camera,” said •Mrs Field. “The picture came out clearlv.”
