Taranaki sna-tehfed a victory from Wellington by one point in the annual representative Rugby match at Hawera this afternoon, the score being 9 to 8. The standard of play was patchy, and the tackling on both sides was decidedly weak. There was no score in the first spell. Taranaki scored a try and two penalty goals, and Wellington a converted try and a, penalty.
