FINED £75 FOR FIFTH OFFENCE.

(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 24. After a raid on Saturday, Frederick Lawrence Kenny, aged 59, was fined £75 in the Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of keeping a common gaming-house. Detective G. A. McTVhirter said that Kenny did extremely good business, 87 doubles and 74 straight-out bets having been taken on the day of the raid.

Kenny had been before the Court four times before, the last time being fined £75.

T«o men found on the premises were fined £1 and ordered to pay costs.
