THE LONDON WOOL SALES. AN ACTIVE DEMAND. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 20. At the wool sales 7361 bales were offered, including 4081 New Zealand, and 5051 were sold. A moderate miscellaneous selection met with active demand. Slipes and inferiors were heavily withdrawn owing to high limits. Throughout the series 69,700 bales were offered and 59,000 sold. There was a hardening' tendency throughout. Compared with those at the closing of tlie previous series, prices were from par to 5 per cent, higher, except for slipes, which were 5 to 10 per cent, lower.
