PUBLIC BEQUESTS.

CHURCH FUNDS BENEFIT, (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 20. Under the will of Mr W. T. Brand, master mariner, who died in Auckland on March 26. it was directed that, subject to certain life interests, tlie following 1 .legacies be paid to the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees: — £IOOO for additions to the building fund of the Somerville Presbyterian Church, Remuera ; £IOO to purchase equipment for the Sunday School • £SOO each to the foreign / and home missions of the Presbyterian Church, subject to certain deductions if the estate expenses were higher than anticipated, and a further £SOO to the Presbyterian Social Service Association for the wives of prisoners in Mount Eden prison.

In addition a provision is made for payment of a further legacy of £IOOO to the British. Sailors’ Society (Auckland auxiliary), the income from such sum to be used for the purchase of English magazines and suppers for sailors.

On the expiration of the life interests, the residue of the estate is bequeathed to the British Sailors’ Society (Auckland auxiliary).
