ST. JAMES THEATRE. ‘Maytime,” the glorious musical film, starring Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald, will be shown finally at the St. James Theatre this evening. . . A gripping drama of an aerial legion of lost men, ‘‘Flight from Glory,” RKG Radio picture with Chester Morris and Whitney Bourne in the leading roles, will commence its run to-morrow evening, and he shown at two sessions on Friday. Unusually outstanding are the powerful characteristics offered by the cast principals and the novel story. Concerning the harrowing experiences of a group l of renegade aviators engaged in flying condemned planes over the lofty peaks of the treacherous Andes, the exciting story attains unusual dramatic heights, ill its vivid depiction of the reaction of these exiled men to a young girl whom circumstances bring to the remote South American settlement. The striking series of-portrayals are offered by Chester Morris, Miss Bourne, Onslow Stevens, Van Heflin, Douglas Walton, Rita LaRoy and other capable players. Mary Astor is featured with Richard Arlen and Lionel 1 Stander In Columbia’s new romantic comedy, “No Time To Marry,” the second attraction of the double-feature programme. SCOTTISH SOCIETY’S INGLESIDE.

The Ashburton Scottish Society held its second Ingleside last evening, when the Chief, Mr E. G. Craighead, presided. There was a very large attendance and an excellent programme was pre- - sentod : . 1 Selection, Ashburton Pipe Band; song, Mr N. Hosking; instrumental selection, Mr G. Holmes and party; Highland fling, 'Colleen Tait; song, Miss K. Johnstone; song, Mr G. Fawcett; sword dance and hornpipe, Donald Ramsay; song. Mrs Rex Pearce; violin solo,' Mr T. Staples; elocution, Miss R. Watts; Irish jig, AVanaka Wall song, Air B. McSherry; pipe solo, Piper, Geo. Robertson ; Seauntriubhais, Donald Ramsay. The accompaniments were plaved by Miss O. AA atts, Airs McHardy, and Airs Dolphin. Pipe music for the dancing was played by Piper Geo. Robertson. The dance music was played by Airs Mitchell’s Orchestra and tlie ALG’s. were Messrs T. AlcGregor and G- Chilton.
