GERMAN AGENT.
WOMAN AT EDINBURGH. FOUR. YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. (United Press Association —Copyright.) LONDON, May 16. Mrs Jessie Wallace, alias Jordan, a middle-aged, good-looking blonde, fashionably dressed, in the High Court in 'Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to being in communication with German agents, making a plan of a prohibited place, and obtaining information about coastal defence between Montrose and Kirkcaldy. She was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. ■ Counsel for the defence said that Jordan had married a German who died from injuries received during the war. iShe had received several remittances, but they were not substantial amounts, and she was not animated by hostility or ill-will to Britain. She felt that her nationality now meant nothing to her.
Mrs Jordan, the owner of a Dundee hairdressing shop, - was arrested on March 2 on charges under the Official Secrets Act. The police took possession of a number of documents found in the shop.
