QUESTION OF HOME-GROWN. matter; of health raised. COULD NOT* BE IMPROVED. (United Press Association-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, May 17. The Secretary of" State for War (Mr L. Llore-Belisha) stated in the House of Commons that the extra cost of providing the army with home-killed meat instead of meat from the Dominions in the year 1937-38 would have been £439,000. Mr H. Day (Labour): Does the Minister agree that the health of the troops could he improved by eating British fresh meat instead of imported.
Mr Hore-Belisha: I do not think the health of'the troops could be improved.
