SERVICES AT ASHBURTON.
EASTER CONGREGATIONS GOOD. There were good congregations at all churches in Ashburton yesterday, when Easter services were held, The Rev. J. F. Feron conducted the services at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. Holy Communion was conducted at 7 a.m., S a.m. and 11 a.m., with a children’s service at 10 o’clock. A full church marked the Festal Evensong at 7 p.tn.
Tlie Rev. R. S. Watson conducted the Easter services at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The subject of the morning sermon was “loundations” and that in the evening “The Appearance of Jesus to Mary Magdalene.” Mr Watson conducted a special service at Tuarangi Home in the afternoon.
Special Easter services were held at the Baring Square Methodist Church yseterday. Mr J. D. L. Robb conducted the service in the morning, the Rev. A. Mcßean conducting a morning service at Wakanui. At 7 o’clock Easter hymns were sung, and, Mr McBean took as his subject “The Risen Christ.”
Major D. B. Duggan presented a screen service, entitled “The Old, Old Story,” at the Salvation Army Hall last evening. Mrs Duggan sang a solo entitled “Alone.”
