RUAPUNA BEATS MAYFIELD. A tennis match between Alayfield and Ruapuna A teams was played on Saturday. Because of rain some of the games were not completed. Ruapuna won by 18 sets (108 games) to three sets (56 games). Results were as follows (Mayfield names first): — Alen’s Singles—J. Doonan beat R. C. Bean, 6-4; ‘D .Dellow lost to R. Sewell, 3-6 ; I. BARING SQUARE IN LEAD.

THE JUNIOR COMPETITIONS. After the matches on Saturday the Baring Square team is leading in the junior competition of the Mid-Canter-bury 'Lawn Tennis .Sub-Association. The team has gone through three matches without defeat. Allenton, Methven, Fairton and Ashburton A have each had tw’o wins.
