A FRENCH PROJECT.

LARGEST FLYING-BOAT. Franco is about to build the lai gest flying-boat in the world. It will he one of two designed for the trans-Atlantic service. It is expected that both will be completed in 1940. The larger boat, to he known as No. 631, will weigh 65 tons, be equipped with six motors, and cruise at 215 miles an hour over a range of 4000 miles,. allowing for a. 40-mile-an-hour. head wind. A crew of eight will he quartered in the upper forward section of the machine. Twenty passengers will be carried m the centre compartments, where there will be a bar, shower-baths, a large saloon and an office. Three tons_ of freight will be stowed in the tail section.
