A ROUGH VOYAGE.

RACING YACHTS IN A GALE.

United Prwss Association—Copyright > (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

The New Zealand cruiser Achilles reported having sighted the yacht Aurora Star, a competitor in the transTasman race, 15 miles north of Cape Maria Van Diemen.

A meteorologist said that yesterday the competing yachts would have encountered the cyclone which was causing high seas in eastern Tasmania. It is generally agreed that they would have to ride out the gale hove-to.
