UNEMPLOYMENT FRAUDS. (Per PreßS Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Sentences of six weeks’ imprisonment with hard labour were imposed on three men who pleaded guilty before Mr Luxford, S.M., to having obtained benefit under the Employment Promotion Act by means of false statements. They were Herbert Stavelev Parry, of EPaekakarika, a butcher ; George Purdom, separated from his wife, but with three children dependent on him; and Richard Slavin, a seaman.
