The distribution of overseas trade in 1937 between British and foreign countries was as follows:
Imports Avorth £405,300,000 Avere drawn from British countries, and £623,800,000 from foreign countries, compared Avith . £332,4(10,000.. .. and £515,400,000 respectively in 1936. United Kingdom goods . worth £252,000,000 were. exported to British countries, and £269,600,000 to foreign countries,; against . ;..£216,900,000. and £223,700,000 respectively in 1936;. :, The proportion of- imports from British countries in 1937 wftS* 39:4' pet’ cent., against 39.2 • pfer ceiltviii i-936, and Avas the highest percentage ever recorded.
