DECISIONS OF FARMERS’ UNION

A difference in opinion about detail of holidays for farm workers was pointed out at the meeting this afternoon of the Mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union, at which the president (Mr L. O. Oakley) presided. The Dominion secretary gave details of holidays for workers on dairy farms, at the full rate of pay with half boarding allowance at 8s 9d a week. Mr J. Carr said that the Dominion president (Mr W. W. Mulholland), the Dominion secretary and the head of the Labour Department differed 0,11 the subject, In this case, how could the working farmer be expected to understand the matter?
