THE PRACTICE CONDEMNED (Per Press Association.? CHRISTCHURCH, January 20. Strong condemnation of the practice of the poncl-sliooting of ducks because of the heavy toll on bud i e and detriment to the stocks of game was expressed at the conference of the South Island Acclimatisation Societies. The conference, after a long discussion, decided that the societies should be urged to concentrate on ranging and that the Minister of Internal Affairs b j advised of the evils of the practice.
