MR J. E. JENKINSON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr John Edward Jenkinson, who was a member of the Legislative Council from 1891 to 1912, and a prominent figure in fhe political life of New Zealand over that period, is dead. He is survived by his wife and one son. REV. BROTHER D. REILLY. AUCKLAND, November 29. Advice has been received in Auckland by cablegram of the death in Sydney of the Rev. Brother Denis Reilly, who was at one time rector of 'St. Joseph’s College, Hunter’s Hill, Sydney. . In more recent years he was appointei first Provincial Superior of the Marist Brothers in New Zealand. He was well known in the Dominion, having paid several visits to all the Marist Brothers’ schools throughout the country during his term as Provincial Superior. CAPTAIN G. W. BRADDELL. PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 29. Captain George William Braddell died to-day, aged 59. He served in South Africa and joined the New Zealand Staff Corps in 1911, retiring because of ill-health. He was recently engaged as supervisor of the forestry reserve at Tangimoana. Captain Braddell leaves a widow and three daughters. Captain Braddell was a son of the late Mr C. Braddell, who was Town Clerk of Ashburton from 1878 to 1888, and secretary to the Ashburton High School Board. He was educated at the Ashburton High School.
