It is officially announced that Italy has recognised Manchukuo as a sovereign State, and has decided to establish a legation. It is expected that Manchukuo will adhere to the Anti-Comintern Pact as a result of recognition. The next step in Italo-Japanese accord is expected to be a trade agreement, which is already being negotiated, arranging for resumption of Japanese trade with Abyssinia.
