PROPOSAL LOST.
NO BAN ON FREEMASONRY. (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) BERNE, November 28. The referendum held yesterday to decide whether Freemasonry should be banned throughout Switzerland resulted in the rejection of the proposal. The progress totals show 444,000 votes against, and, 186,000 for. Under the Swiss law a plebiscite is taken if 50,000 petition the Government. The newspaper “Debuind” published documents purporting to show that the petition was prompted by Fascists, supported by foreign agents.
