CHRISTCHURCH TO TIMARU SCOTT FIRST WITH FASTEST TIME (Special to the ‘-Guardian.”) TIMARU; This Day. G. C. Scott, of Pareora, won the Christchurch to Tiinaru road race, the first for 26 years, which was held under sweltering conditions on Saturday. The winner, with A. Henshaw, of Timaru, who is onlv 16 years old, lost A. J. Annett, of Christchurch, on the Hinds road, and they kept together till they reached the foot of the hill leading to* the Caledonian grounds, where Scott took the lead to go further ahead on the track and to win easily. Scott obtained fastest time and Henshaw second fastest time, the Christchurch rider, R. E. Slack, being next fastest, while third placing in the, race was obtained by Annett. The plaeings were: — G.
