EMPIRE WIRELESS.
ENGLISH-SPEAKING BROADCASTS DEVELOPMENT OF THE SERVICE (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, November 28. The “Daily Telegraph” says evidence that the use of foreign languages will not prejudice transmissions to English-speaking listeners, the British Broadcasting Corporation plans to develop the Empire service in the New Year. The principal change to suit listeners will be the closing of the gap between transmissions, meaning uninterrupted transmissions daily to Australia, New Zealand, Africa and the Far East from 10.45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Longer features are to be introduced in the morning sessions at 8.15 a.m. to Australia, New Zealand an India. It is proposed to reflect life in the Dominions and Colonies with monthly programmes originating overseas, which will he rebroadcast throughout the Empire.
