SWIMMING.
DECISIONS OF ALLENTON CLUB CARNIVAL ON DECEMBER 4. At a meeting of the committee of the Allenton Swimming Club last evening the president (Mr YV. H. Hunter) presided. A report was received from the caretaker that season tickets were selling well, and that.indications were for a good season as the baths had been well patronised even so early in the season. An invitation from the Ashburton East Club to attend their opening carnival next Wednesday was accepted. It was decided to hold the opening carnival on December 4, in the afternoon. It was also decided to run a series of races for senior club swimmers for a shield donated by Mr YV. James.
