EIFFELTON. PERSONAL. Mr J. M. Stoddart, of Eiffelton, who has been a patient in the Ashburton County Hospital for the last seven months, has been returned to his father’s home at Willow by.
MAYFIELD.
TEMPERANCE UNION. The monthly meeting of‘the Mayfield branch cf the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Presbyterian Church vestry, Mrs D. Edmond presiding. Mrs T. E. Taylor wrote requesting the union to link up with the League of Nations Union. It was decided to defer discussion until a fuller meeting could be held. It was decided to distribute literature to the men of the Public Works camps. Mission Among Maoris. The Rev. R,. Morgan, formerly of the Presbyterian Church in Methven, who is now doing missionary work among'the Maoris in Opotiki, visited Mayfield on Thursday evening and addressed members of the Mayfield congregation. The Rev. J. S. Freeman presided.
