MEDICALLY UNFIT.
SUPERINTENDENT BORPHY.

MELBOURNE, This Bay. Superintendent Brophy (Chief of the Criminal Investigation branch of the Police Force), after examination by the Government Medical Board, has beefi declared medically unfit to return to duty. Mr Brophy has been ill for many months, and the medical advice was he was unlikely to recover unless he could rest.
The Attorney-General recently entered a nolle prosequi in the case against Davies.
A cablegram dated March 17 stated: Superintendent Brophy in the City Court identified Geoffrey Davies, aged 32, as the man who shot him on May 22 last. Davies, who was Charged with having wounded Brophy with intent to murder him, was committed for trial.
