PARISH JUBILEE
CELEBRATION AT RAKAIA.
WELL-ATTENDED SERVICES. The diamond jubilee ball of the St. Mark’s parish, ltakaia, was held in the Town Hall, ltakaia, on Friday evening. It was well attended and visitors were present from Christchurch, Ashburton, Methven, Willowby, Belfast, Palmerston North and Culverden. Music was supplied by Cook’s orchestra (Methven), with extras by Messrs I. Anderson, R. Buchanan and L. Keane. Mr E. H. Kingsbury was M.C. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss B. Maidens and Mr Crozier. Celebrations were continued on Saturday with sports held in.the Domain.
The services at St. Mark’s yesterday were well attended. The morning service was conducted by Dean Julius, and other services held during the day were conducted by the Revs. H. J. "VY. Knights and E. N. Blakiston. Anthems were sung by the choir and solos by Miss B. Crossley and Miss J. Breach. Mr A. Crossley was the organist. The afternoon service was attended by lodge members.
