ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. THE CONCLUDING SALES. Concluding sales at the stock market in the Ashburton yards yesterday were:— Fat EHves—On account of Kennedy’s Estate (Greenstreet), 60 at 14s lid; F. Erarnpton (Wakanui), 1 at 22s 7d ; C. Taylor (Winchmore), 62 at 13s 7d to 16s' lOd; 0. H. Jones (Winelimore), 82 (forward) at 13s 9d. Fat Lambs—On account of G. Hume (Ashburton), 3 at 33s 4d; Kennedy’s Estate (Greenstreet), 48 at 22s 9d; W. Kennedy (Elgin), 26 at 22s lOd; Leadley’s Estate (Elgin), 115 at 27s 7d; J. Shearer, jun. (Winchmore), 37 at 29s 4d; A. N. MacMillan (Greenstreet), 48 at 29s Id; G. H. Jones (Winchmore), 164 at 245. Stores. —On account of clients, 47 2-tooth eaves at 235, 69 ewe lambs at 20s lOd, 210 at 255, 76 merino ewes at 13s, 38 sound-mouth ewes at 22s 9d, 80 at 235, 107 at 265, 37 wether lambs at 15s 4d, 95 mixed-sex lambs at 19s 9d, 241 one-year ewes at 13s 3d, 61 rape ewes at 12s, 176 five-year-old ewes at 18s, 60 eight-tooth Corriedale ewes at 30s.

DAIRY PRODUCE IN LONDON. Ey arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department the following information is supplied:— Butter. New Zealand—Salted 89s, ex 90s (last week, 88s to 89s); New Zealand unsalted, 94s to DCs (93s to 945). Australian—Salted, 90s; unsalted,, 93s to 945. Market quiet at end of this week. New Zealand retail price unchanged, lid. Argentine—Unsalted, 84s to 90s. South Africa —86s to 88s. . Danish —102 s, f.0.b.; 121 sto 122 s spot. Dutch—Unsalted, 975; ex 101 s. Siberian —Salted, 88s to 90s. Ukranian —Salted (firm), 88s. to 90s. Market quiet. Danish retail price unchanged at Is 2d. Cheese. New Zealand—White 55s to 55s 6d (last week, 54s to 54s 6d); coloured 55s 6d to 56s (54s to 54s 6d). Market firm at higher prices on available short supplies. Retail price, 7d. Australian —White 53s to o4s. Market firm. Canadian —White and coloured, /Is to 725. Market steady. English—Finest farmers, 86s to 88s; factory, 49s to 525. Quiet.
GRAIN AND PRODUCE. THE AUCKLAND MARKET. AUCKLAND, March 9. Merchants are doing most of the potato business with Manawatu, whcic tho quality is excellent. Quotations aro fetching £9 a ton. Pukekoho po-
tatoes are fetching 4s 6d a sugar-bag. Pukekohe onions are a little firmer and the price has been raised to 70s per cwt. The maize position may have been relieved for a short time, although prices are still at a high level. Local and Java are quoted at 8s 2d a bushel. Horse feeders are faced with a rise in tho price of chaff, which is now quoted at £9 7s 6d a ton. Tho southern market is very firm and new season’s is not yet available. B Garton oats are steady at 4s lOd a bushel.
WHEAT MARKET IN BRITAIN. LONDON, March 8. Wheat cargoes are steady. Parcels are quiet. Quotations are:— London: March 45s 4d per quarter, May 45s 4d. Liverpool: March 8s Bsd, May 7 8s 9jjd, July 8s 113 d.
