ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. THE CONCLUDING SALES. Concluding sales at the stock market in the Ashburton yards yesterday were:— Fat EHves—On account of Kennedy’s Estate (Greenstreet), 60 at 14s lid; F. Erarnpton (Wakanui), 1 at 22s 7d ; C. Taylor (Winchmore), 62 at 13s 7d to 16s' lOd; 0. H. Jones (Winelimore), 82 (forward) at 13s 9d. Fat Lambs—On account of G. New Zealand—White 55s to 55s 6d (last week, 54s to 54s 6d); coloured 55s 6d to 56s (54s to 54s 6d). Market firm at higher prices on available short supplies. Retail price, 7d. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. THE AUCKLAND MARKET. AUCKLAND, March 9. Merchants are doing most of the potato business with Manawatu, whcic tho quality is excellent. Quotations aro fetching £9 a ton. Pukekoho po-

tatoes are fetching 4s 6d a sugar-bag. Pukekohe onions are a little firmer and the price has been raised to 70s per cwt. The maize position may have been relieved for a short time, although prices are still at a high level. Local and Java are quoted at 8s 2d a bushel. Horse feeders are faced with a rise in tho price of chaff, which is now quoted at £9 7s 6d a ton. Tho southern market is very firm and new season’s is not yet available. B Garton oats are steady at 4s lOd a bushel.

WHEAT MARKET IN BRITAIN. LONDON, March 8. Wheat cargoes are steady. Parcels are quiet. Quotations are:— London: March 45s 4d per quarter, May 45s 4d. Liverpool: March 8s Bsd, May 7 8s 9jjd, July 8s 113 d.
