EXPERT TO ASSIST COMMITTEE.

LONDON, March 9
The naval correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph,” Mr Hector ByAvater, says the Admiralty has recalled Paymaster Rear-Admiral Eldon Manisty from his retirement in order to assist the Shipping Committee. He Avas largely responsible for the success of the convoy system during the Great AVar.
A message •published on Friday stated that a committee composed of representatives of the Admiralty, the Board of Trade, and sbipoAvners, had been formed to take the measures necessary to ensure the least possible dislocation of British shipping in Avar time. Paymaster Rear-Admiral Manisty served as finance member and naval secretary of the Australian NaA*al Board ol Administration from 1911. to 1914. After the outbreak of the Avar be Avas appointed Organising Manager of Convoy in the Admiralty staff. He later held the rank of Paymaster DirectorGeneral of the Fleet, and on bis retirement in 1932 lie Avas knighted.
