LATE MR McELREA.

BOXING ASSOCIATION’S SYMPATHY. At the meeting of the Ashburton Boxing Association last evening a motion of sympathy was carried with the relatives of the late Mr H. R. C. McElrea, members standing in silence. A letter was received from the New Zealand Boxing Association regretting the loss to boxing and the Ashburton Association in the death of Mr McElrea.

Mr F. Porter was appointed a trustee of the Ashburton Association in the place of Mr McElrea, who was one of the founders of the association and its president for niany years. He was also well known in New Zealand boxing circles as a judge at several national championship meetings and ais manager of a team which went to Australia. , ’
