During the last six months of the trade dispute between Australia and Japan, the Australian exporters lost £6,000,000 compared with the previous year, owing to the operation of the Japanese embargo, but Australian imports from Japan remained almost at the same level as in 1935.

Australian wool exports declined from 6,454,3581bs to 15,345. Australian currency imports from Japan in the final six months of the dispute were valued at £2,504,616, compared with £2,679,083 for the corresponding period of 1935.
