AMERICA’S CUP.
TRIALS IN UNITED STATES. (United Press Association- —Copyright.) NEW YORK, February 17. Mr Chandler Hovey, a Boston hanker, has purchased from Mr Harold Vanderbilt the yacht Rainbow, the 1934 America’s Cup defender. He has an-, nounced that he will race Rainbow against Mr Vanderbilt’s new yacht Ranger for the defence of the cup. The move is welcomed by the sub-com-mittee of the New York Yacht Club, which has hitherto been:-worried at the lack of a worthy opponent for Ranger.
