PEOPLE’S DAY YESTERDAY. MORE ASHBURTON SUCCESSES. The Royal Show' at Christchurch Avas concluded yesterday Avith People’s Day. There Avas a very large attendance. The gate takings Avere estimated at £2400, £214 less than at the previous Christchurch Royal Show in 1927. Open hunters’ competition (37): A. J. Nicoll 3. Saddle Ponies—Stallion not over 12 hands (3): O. Digby 1. Mare in foal or Avitli foal at foot (3): R. J. Johnston 2. Not over 12.2 hands (13): H. M. Copland h c. Not over 14.2 hands (10): O. Digby li c, P. L. Donald c. Saddle Cobs —Not over 14.2 hands (14): J. S. Lilley 3. Saddle Horses—Best mannered and paced hack (20): A. N. Grigg’s Sacks 1 and, champion. Roadster or hack up to 13 stone (15): A. N. Grigg 1. Roadster or hack up to 11 stone (18): Mrs J. H. Grigg 1. Ladies’ hack (29): Mrs J. H. Grigg’s Haldon 1 and reserve champion. Journey horse, up to 13 stone (21): A. N. Grigg 1.
