NO NEW TAXES.
MR ROOSEVELT’S PROMISES. (United Press Association—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, November 11. At a press conference Mr Roosevelt reaffirmed his election promises not to propose new taxes at the next session of Congress*. He avoided commitments on balancing the Budget, indicating, however, that the Budget for the next fiscal year will not be larger than the current year’s. Mr Roosevelt cautioned journalists not-“to go out on the limb” in describing the Administration’s plans. He added that whatever changes were made in corporate taxes would not be retroactive because the Government needed the money.
