THE MID-CANTERBURY TEAM. MATCH AGAINST ELLESMERE. The following players were selected last evening to represent Mid-Canter-bury in the first representative tennis match of the season against Ellesmere at Ashburton on November 21: — 1 Men—E. P. Bryant, P. M. McLauclilan, A. Stanley, V. W. Russell, W. T. Watkins, C. A. Cuff. Women—Misses D. Vesty, E. Meredith, I. Dalilberg, Mrs E. Bropliy, Misses T. Cowan and A. Amos. ASHBURTON COUNTY LADDER.
The Match Committee of the MidCanterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-Associa-tion has arranged the order of the Ashburton County ranking list for the opening of the season as follows: Men—E. P. Bryant, P. M. McLauchlan, A. Stanlev, V. W. Russell, W. T. Watkins, C. A. Cuff, L. R. Clarke,
D. Harwood, G. Kelly, It. Lambie, D. M. Bruce, M. Stoddart. Women—Misses D'. Vesty, E. Meredith, I. Dahlberg, Mrs E. Brophy, Misses T. Cowan, A. Amos, H. Harper, K. MeQuilkin, I. McLennan, J. Smith, A. McHarrie, and J. Lane. The committee has paired off the players, who will be required to play off by November 24, the onus to notify the results being on the winner. In the event of the match not being played as arranged, without reasonable excuse, the names of the players concerned will be removed from the ladder. Any selected player who does not take part in at least two representative matches during the season will also be removed from the ranking list. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY.
