PIED PIPER NEEDED.

BRITAIN’S RAT MENACE. Britain’s rat population is going up and up . . . and up . . . Ministry of Health officials, local health authorities, and rat-catchers in all parts of tho country do not quite know what to do about it. Mr AA’illiam Dalton, official ratcatcher to the Citv of London, members of whose family have been catching rats for more than 200 years, said to the “Sunday Chronicle” recently:— “In 1934 I caught 24,000 rats in the square mile cf the City. In 1935 I caught 35,000 rats. This year, _it is certain, tho figures will he eclipsed. My men travel all over the country and from what I see of their reports I can say that there are more rats in Britain to-day than ever before.”
