FIRST VISIT TO ASHBURTON. TO ARRIVE ON NOVEMBER 20. ACCOMPANIED BY LADY GALWAY His Excellency the Governor-General (Viscount Galway) will pay his first visit to Ashburton on November 20, according to advice received this morning by the Mayor (Mr W. H. Woods) from Major A. Purvis (military secretary to the Governor-General). Viscount Galway will be accompanied by Lady Galway and members of his suite. His Excellency will arrive at Ashburton on the morning train from Christchurch and will stay for an hour be fore proceeding to Longbeach. It is his desire to meet as many townspeople as can conveniently be present and to pay a visit to public institutions. Preliminary arrangements for the visit will be made by the Mayor tomorrow, after consultation with the Ashburton County Council.
