The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has been advised by its London manager that the following retail prices were quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London during October. These prices represent a fair average quoted by the better-class shops for best quality:— Lamb—Legs«l2d, shoulders lid, loins lid, necks 6d, breasts 3d, forequarters Bsd, hindquarters Hid. Mutton (wethers) —Legs 9d, shoulders Bd, loins Bd, necks 4d, breasts 2d. DAIRY PRODUCE IN LONDON. By arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department the following information on the London market is supplied : Butter. New Zealand, salted IGBs-109s, equals approx. 12.83 d f.o.b. (last week 995-100 s); 100 s); unsalted 106 s, Australian—Salted 107 s to 108 s ; unsalted 102 s to 104 s. Active demand eai’lier part of this week. PUKEKQHE POTATO CROP. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 7. After serious delays due to bad weather, digging of the new season’s first crop of potatoes on Pukekohe Hill commenced this week, and the railway has been handling 60 tons daily. It is expected that the figures will be increased to a hundred tons daily next week. The very few signs of blight augur well for a heavy yield as recompense for the damage a few 'months ago by severe frosts and hailstorms.
