Mr Walter Walker, Liberian Consul, declared that European interests were attempting to foster disorders in Liberia, which after the Ethiopian conquest, was the lone independent Afri can State. Mr Walker pointed out that Signor Mussolini, in the Ethiopian campaign, argued! the right to take over a country made chaotic by tribal warfare. Mr Walker did not specify the Powers interfering in Liberia, but said that Germany, Britain and France ware the principals who were commercially interested.
