PERSONAL.
Sir Edward Harding (Permanent Under-Secretary of State in the Dominions Office) arrived at Auckland from London by the Mataroa. He is accompanied by Lady Harding, and is on his way to Adelaide to attend the South Australian Centenary celebrations. He has been invited by the New Zealand Government to spend some time in the Dominion, and will renew acquaintances with the country, which he visited just before the Great War as Secretary of the Dominions Royal Commission.
Mr I. Bolton, who has been caretaker of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church for 14 years, has resigned from the position. The Rev. R. S. Watson yesterday referred from the pulpit to his long ” and valuable services. Mr A. Calder, senior, lias been appointed to the position. At the close of the morning service, the elders and managers met and presented Air Bolton with a silver-mounted walking-stick. Many tributes were paid to his helpfulness to the congregation and its various organisations.
