DEATH IN STREET.
NEW ZEALANDER IN SYDNEY. RESULT OF HURT IN DOMINION. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Injuries received in New Zealand about a month ago are believed to have caused the death yesterday of Mr Avon Alexander West, aged 24, who arrived in Australia, three weeks ago. Mr West’s body was found ini the street of the suburb Waterlow. A few minutes earlier he was seen walking along the street dressed in pyjamas and overcoat, and evidently in pain. A Government medical officer found that he died from a fractured skull, although there was no external fracture.
Mr West who is thought to have been a boxer in New Zealand, had complained of feeling ill both on the trip over and since his arrival, although he had been working every day.
Inquiries will be made in New Zealand and arrangements have been made to send the body home.
